Gore Bike Wear Men’s Contest Thermo Jersey Review

With the weather starting to turn its time to start thinking about a couple of upgrades to the base layers.

Gore Bike Wear Contest JerseyNormally I look a bit scruffy on the bike, especially on my MTB where I am more worried about tearing my expensive lycra and windstoppers!

But, its starting to get cold and I need to look at keeping warm!  So here we have the Gore Bikewear Contest Thermo Jersey.

Is designed as a mid/base layer, if its not wet then you can get away with wearing it as a single layer.  Its a nice thick jersey that is comfortable against the skin.

The jersy comes in three four colours: Red, Grey/Black, Green and Neon Yellow (the High Vis version)

Made from 87% Nylon and 13% elastaine, it has plenty of stretch to keep it tight fitting yet comfortable.  Although it is a little on the large size, I normally take a large and a medium might just edge it!

Round the back there are 3 good sized pockets, fine for holding a small water proofs or leg warmers etc.

The zip is good, running the full length down the front, handy when it gets slightly warmer through the ride and the Jersey needs to be opened up slightly.  The zip has a nice underflap to keep your chest hair from becoming trapped in the teeth, and for blocking out any chilly wind.

Looking at all the features the price comes in at a reasonable $99.00.  Hunting around, I have found it on Amazon with a small discount off.  For the latest price on Amazon Click here

Gorebike Wear really sets the standard for quality bike clothing.  All reviewers have made positive comments about the  Contest Jersey

“This mid-weight fabric jersey is great for a ride on a cool day. It’s attractive and nicely made. Runs slightly large.”

There are no real downsides reported, except the price.  But well looked after it will give many winters of service.

A great quality, good looking Jersey perfect for keeping you warm in colder conditions.
